The invention relates to a method for determining triglyceride contained in a lipoprotein. The method comprises the measures such that the lipoprotein containing triglyceride is reacted with a non-ionic surface active agent constructed out of a block copolymer of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide, and a triglyceride determination method is carried out. The agents for the above mentioned method steps are combined as components to form a diagnostic product. The method and the diagnostic product are especially suited for in-vitro diagnosis of vascular diseases, especially for detecting coronary cardiac disease.
