<p>Sewage purification unit has a chamber (1) with upper inlet (2) and lower outlet (3). It comprises a composting stage. Material subject to decomposition is mixed in the chamber with mechanically-retained components from the waste water introduced. The novel feature is the use of a wheeled container (4) with lid (5), strongly resembling a domestic wheelie-bin. There is an air inlet (7) which enters near the base and an air outlet (8) near the top. The composting material (9) is filled near to the top, leaving the inlet (2) clear.</p>
