MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY RESISTANT TO ERYSIPELOTHRIX RHUSIOPATHIAE AND ITS UTILIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody for isolation, determination, etc., of antigen for protecting from infection of Erysipelothrix rusiopathiae, comprising a monoclonal antibody reacting with Erysipelothrix rusiopathiae, binding to an antigen which is common to Erysipelothrix rusiopathiae and not binding to antigen of analogous bacterium. SOLUTION: This new monoclonal antibody react with Erysipelothrix rusiopathiae and does not react with (A) Actinomyces pyogenes, (B) Streptococcuss uis type 2, (C) Staphylococcus xylosus, (D) Staphylococcus aureus, (E) Staphylococcus simulans, (F) Staphylococcus hyicus, (G) Listeria monocytogenes, (H) Escherichia coli, (I) Salmonella typhymurium, (J) Bacillus subtillus and (K) Bacillus cereus. The monoclonal antibody is obtained by subcutaneously injecting a cultured bacterial solution of Erysipelothrix rusiopathiae into a mouse, adopting spleen cell after raising of antibody value, fusing the spleen cell with myeloma cell, selecting antibody producing strain, cloning the strain and culturing the resultant hybridoma.
