PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method enabling to accelerate a generation of iron carbide, in a production method of the iron carbide proceeding a first reaction operation for performing a portion of the reduction reaction followed by a second reaction operation for performing the remaining reduction and carbonization. SOLUTION: The first reaction operation for performing a portion of the reduction operation of an iron-containing raw material is performed at a fluidized bed type reactor furnace 19, and then the second reaction operation for performing the remaining reduction and carbonization is processed at a fluidized bed type reactor furnace 39. Carbon or carbon-containing gas is added to the reaction gas in the fluidized bed type reactor 39. The carbon-containing gas is preferably coke-oven gas, blast furnace exhaust gas, electric furnace exhaust gas, smelting reduction furnace exhaust gas, converter exhaust gas, or coal gasification gas. |
