APPARATUS FOR SEPARATION OF GAS-SOLIDS MIXTURES

Gas-solids separator is proposed, comprising: Mixture inlet (8), gas and solids outlets (7,20) and housing (4). A part of the housing is cylindrical (11), attached to a conical part (12). The gas discharge connection (7) is at the top end of a pipe (15) which extends into the cylindrical part of the housing. The incoming mixture enters tangentially at (8), expands in the spherical section (5) of the housing, then forced into a spiral movement by guides (14).
