Sampling method for computer analysis of unburnt carbon in fine ash

A sample is taken from a conveyor system (2) filled with ash. The sample is placed in a feed container (1). The sample is de-aerated before it enters an analyzer (7), and before the start of analysis, it is compacted and heated to a predetermined temperature. The sample is analyzed using microwave resonance. The ash sample is fed back out of the analyzer either to the conveyor system or collected as a reference sample. An Independent claim is also provided for a device for carrying out the method.
