A wall system having several inherently rigid wall elements that each have two cover plates (12, 13) between which profiled sections (10) are arranged on at least the vertical edges for accommodating coupling parts, said profiled sections exhibiting a longitudinal groove (15) having a cross-section tapering conically inward and provided at its upper and/or lower front end with at least one bore (18, 19) for accommodating pegs of fastening elements that can be situated at the upper and/or lower edge of the wall element.
