The plate heat exchanger has heat exchange plates (1) with several corrugated surfaces against and sealed to each other, and two separate flow paths (10, 11), one (10) with a larger through-flow cross section than the other (11). There are several identically shaped plates with an asymmetric cross section relative to the central plane (5) of the plates. The undersurface of the seal recesses are in the central plane of each relevant plate. The like sides of every other plate (8) face in the same direction, and the equivalent sides of the remaining plates (9) face the other way.
