PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat a scum stably efficiently by a method wherein a nitrogen source is added to the scum, mixed in a high temperature aerobic bacteria support in a fermenter, and air is passed therethrough at a specific pH or under. SOLUTION: When an apparatus is started to be operated in start of a treatment, a nitrogen source is mixed in a scum, a C/N ratio of the mixture is preferably adjusted at about 40 to 80, and charged into a fermenter (a high temperature aerobic chamber). Then, that is mixed in a high temperature aerobic bacteria support passing air under a condition of pH 7 or under. Though dewatered sludge or nitrogen-containing chemicals or the like is used as nitrogen source, the dewatered sludge is preferable. When the C/N ratio is 80 or higher, nitrogen is shorted, and a high temperature aerobic treatment cannot be executed. When that is 40 or under, the pH becomes 7 or higher, and ammonia is gasified to be vaporized. The high temperature aerobic treatment is executed under this condition for about 1 to 2 weeks. Thereby, a nitrogen constituent is decomposed into ammonia, which is held in the support. Therefore a great amount of the high temperature aerobic bacteria are proliferated in the support, and the scum can be stably efficiently treated.
|
