PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. capable of lowering a curing temp. in processing while maintaining the patterning characteristic and chemical resistance of a pigment dispersed polyimide precursor soln. and the transparency, light resistance and heat resistance of resulted color filters by incorporating the specific polyimide precursors and pigments into the compsn. SOLUTION: The pigment dispersed thermosetting type resin soln. compsn. contains the polyimide precursor having an aliphat. ether bond or alicyclic ether bond in at least part of its main chain and the pigments. The polyimide precursor is preferably a polyamic acid having the structural unit expressed by formula. In the formula, R1 is a polyvalent carboxylic acid residue; R2 is a polyvalent amine residue having the aliphat. ether bond or alicyclic ether bond and (n) is an integer from 0 to 4. The application of the polyvalent carboxylic acid residue having the aliphat. ether bond or alicyclic ether bond is also applicable to R1.
