PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a satisfactory output image by detecting density distribution of stored image data, detecting positional deviation from a prescribed reference point and adjusting an output timing of image data to a printing means. SOLUTION: When it is decided as an input from a CCD, a reader part 1 reads an original for adjustment which is placed on an original platen and its image data selector 118 stores it in image memory 120. Positional deviation from a reference point in a horizontal scanning direction is measured. Density distribution of each line is acquired, and similarly, density distribution of a vertical scanning direction is also acquired. Next, each line of the horizontal and vertical scanning lines and density distribution information of a string are analyzed, and the positional deviation from the reference point is calculated. A position where density range from 0 to 255 is detected at the beginning of the string from every line and linear approximation is performed on it. An intersection that is acquired from two linear approximations is decided as a position in an upper left corner of an original image, and an output timing of image data to a printing means is adjusted. |
