<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost data input device which facilitates character writing input. SOLUTION: A coordinate input area 201 is an area where only coordinate input is performed and an LCD display panel is not arranged. In a character input area 202, on the other hand, not only a character input means, but also a display means composed of an LCD panel are arranged. Further, entry frames for writing characters are previously displayed and when a character is entered into each entry frame with a pen 2a, strokes are displayed in the entry frame, so that the recognition result is displayed at the same position. When the recognition result of all written characters is correct, a menu 203 is indicated with the pen, so that the recognition result is outputted to a personal computer 1a and displayed on the CRT (1b) of the personal computer.</p> |
