<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To faithfully obtain reproduced images even when an intermittently and stationarily recorded magnetic tape is continuously run and to select an arbitrary head width regardless of a track width even in an intermittent tape feeding and a continuous tape feeding and continuous recording. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording and reproducing device of a helical scanning system, when recorded, an intermittent stationary recording for every prescribed time is performed. In reproducing, when the running speed of a magnetic tape 38 is defined as to be v-sold that in a normal reproducing and the revolutions of a rotary drum 39 are defined as to be r-fold in recording, the tape is reproduced with a condition satisfying|v|>=N/r (provided, N is a positive integer, v is a real number and r is a positive real number). Then, a head arrangement and a head difference in level are set so that the track pattern of a continuous tape feeding and continuous recording becomes a recording order on a time base and in an intermittent feeding stationary recording, a recording is performed by diving recording information and only portions on which the recording is performed of the magnetic tape 38 are intermittently run.</p> |
