CONNECION STATE TRANSMITTER, CONNECTION STATE DISPLAY DATA GENERATOR, AND CONNECTION STATE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow all display devices in a network to easily display a connection state. SOLUTION: A connection information read circuit 2 reads information of a topology map 1 and gives it to a master node ID table generating circuit 3. The master node ID table generating circuit 3 generates a master node ID table denoting cross reference between ID of each node and ID of master node. The information from the master node ID table generating circuit 3 is given to a connection display data generating circuit 4, where connection display data are generated. Furthermore, an encode circuit 5 converts the connection display data into transmission data in compliance with the IEEE 1394 and sends the data. The connection display data are generated by a prescribed data format and the transmission data are generated by a transmission data format of the IEEE 1394 then display devices on the network in compliance with the IEEE 1394 standards display the network connection state based on the connection display data.
