PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient retrieval through easy operation by displaying center directory information at the time of file retrieval and also displaying medium identification information where a file matching retrieval conditions such as an index, the preparation date and time, etc., are recorded. SOLUTION: When a document graph file which is prepared or updated is written to a removable recording medium, the retrieval conditions of the file name, preparation day, index, etc., are written to a directory area of the recording medium. The directly information written to the directory area is written to a specific directory file on a fixed disk of a personal computer while making to correspond to the medium identification information on a volume name, a volume serial number, etc., and this is regarded as a center directory 17. A display control part 20 displays the center directory information and also displays the identification information on the medium where the file meeting the retrieval conditions of the index, preparation data and time, etc., is recorded at the time of file retrieval. |
