<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit error measurement device and a method for a MO DEM device by which the transmission of a test pattern signal is controlled and its bit error is measured by masking a flow control code by detecting a D3 code (test pattern stop request code) being a flow control code inserted by the MODEM or a D1 code (test pattern transmission request code). SOLUTION: A flow control code detection circuit 5 detects a flow control code (D1 or D3 code) set in a data bit by a MODEM and a stop bit detection circuit 4 detects a stop bit of a test pattern signal 2A. In the case that the D3 code that is a test pattern stop request is detected, a clock control circuit 3 stops an output of a test pattern synchronization clock signal 3A synchronously with the detected stop bit to stop the transmission of the test pattern signal 2A. The flow control code detection circuit 5 masks the flow control code set to an input signal 1A and provides an output of the result as a bit error measurement signal 5B to a bit error measurement circuit 1.</p> |
