The gearbox (10), having primary (18) and secondary (24) shafts with end bearings (20, 22, 26, 28) set in forward (15) and rear (13) end walls, has a third bearing (25, 27) for the central section of each shaft, carried by a third, central section (14) of the gearbox housing and set in a transverse partition (38). The partition (38) can be made in one piece with the central section of the gearbox housing or as a separate component fixed to it. In a variant of the design the central and rear sections of the housing can be made in one piece. |
