PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for providing security to a self-service checkout terminal and the self-service checkout terminal therefor. SOLUTION: In this method, security is provided to the self-service checkout terminal 10 provided with a bag well 15 and an optical curtain device 24 for generating an optical curtain to be arranged on the bag well 15. The method includes a step for arranging a grocery container 17 in the bag well 15, a step for generating a commodity input completion control signal at the time of inputting a product code related to one commodity to the terminal 10, a step for advancing the commodity into the container 17 through the optical curtain 25 and generating a 1st detection control signal in response to the advancement, and a step for generating an in-valid control signal when the 1st detection signal is generated before the generation of the commodity input completion control signal. The self-service checkout terminal 10 is also disclosed. |
