The bell-crank link arrangement (10) is installed on the free end of a piston rod (7) inside the housing of the clamping head (1). The piston (5) divides the cylinder into two chambers, and has inductive sensors (44,46) for the end positions of the piston. A braking piston (13) is coaxially allocated to the main piston, and together the two pistons form a damping device (25,35) to brake the opening movement of the piston. The braking piston is axially adjustable and lockable by an adjusting screw (14).
