<p>Imidazonaphthyridine (I) and tetrahydroimidazonaphthyridine (II) compounds induce the biosynthesis of cytokines such as interferon and tumor necrosis factor. The compounds exhibit antiviral and antitumor properties. Methods of preparing the compounds and intermediates useful in the preparation of the compounds are also disclosed.
