PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer which can be managed and operated smoothly without imposing any extra burden on a user with regard to progress of print processing, management of consumable goods, or the like. SOLUTION: A print supervisory controller 10 contains data bases for managing consumable goods, jobs, throughput, and the like, and a main control section 11 manages these data bases. The main control section 11 predicts progress of print processing at the time of executing print jobs started from an external host unit 30 based on the management results of each data base and presents prediction results on the display at an input operation/display section 12. The prediction results include predicted times for starting and ending each print job, prediction deficiency of consumable goods and occurring time thereof, and the like. |
