METHOD FOR RESTRAINING DEVELOPMENT OF DIOXIN FROM ELECTRIC MELTING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently restrain the generation itself of dioxin by preventing the staying of chlorine content as the cause of generation of dioxin in the generating temp. range of the dioxin for a long time. SOLUTION: In a batch operating type electric melting furnace 1 which charges scrap (s) by a fixed quantity and melts and discharges this molten metal, the scrap to be melted in the following time is charged under condition of leaving 10-20% molten metal behind at the bottom part in the furnace without discharging the whole quantity of the molten metal. Further, the scrap (s) having high mixed ratio of the chlorine content is charged prior to the other scrap and this scrap is sufficiently preheated.
