The shuttering module is made from a water-repellent material in the form of a one-piece parallelepiped caisson which is open at the top and has slightly tapering sides, making it larger at the top than the bottom. It has a 2.5 cm wide shoulder along the middle of its long sides, and all its outer corners are rounded. Inside it has iron rings (2, 3) for lifting, and resin-coated tubular metal frames. The shuttering module is used by lowering it with the aid of a crane into a ready-dug hole onto a cast concrete slab in the bottom of the hole which is still wet. The gap between the shuttering and the earth walls of the hole are then filled with concrete, which is allowed to set before the shuttering is lifted out
