<p>By connecting a second load (7) to an output of a secondary side rectifying-smoothing unit (2) connected to a transformer secondary side (1), even when a first switch (3) is in non-conductive state and no electric power is supplied to a load (6) (that is, standby state of an appliance), the output of the secondary side rectifying-smoothing unit (2) is not in open state, and the output voltage of the secondary side rectifying-smoothing unit (2) is operating at a voltage close to ordinary operating state of the appliance. Hence, the required withstanding voltage of a capacitor (2b) may be enough at a withstanding voltage suited to the voltage in ordinary operating state of the appliance, so that a smaller and less expensive power supply device is obtained.</p> |
