A wire protector and guide (10) preferably is formed from a single piece of material and includes two halves (17) joined by a hinge. When the two halves (17) are folded about the hinge relative to each other, two openings (20, 22) are defined by the connector body (10). A first opening (20) is adapted to receive a connector (13) while the second opening (22) is adapted to receive a wire bundle. Each of the openings (20, 22) are oriented in non-parallel directions. In the preferred embodiment, the second opening (22) is oriented perpendicular relative to the first opening (20) to facilitate making connections with wire bundles that abruptly change direction in the immediate vicinity of the connector (13).
