PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for an LED lamp provided with such a lens that can give a light output a more uniform curve against the visual angle, when the light source is separated from the lens by a distance which is slightly shorter than a focal distance of the lens. SOLUTION: A light emitting semiconductor chip 34 having a top face 35 for emitting light, a bottom face, and four flat side faces is provided with a chip supporting member having four side sections which respectively correspond to the side faces of the chip 34 and rising from a floor section. The four side sections of the supporting member respectively have reflecting side faces 37-40 which are inclined so that the side faces 37-40 may reflect the light from the top face 35 and at least one of the corresponding side faces of the chip 34. |
