PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to easily read a telephone number by adding hyphens (-) to a received caller telephone number that does not substantially include the hyphens. SOLUTION: The telephone set is provided with a caller telephone number detection circuit 12 that detects a caller number, a Ram 25 that stores a registration number including hyphens, a display means 27 that displays the caller number, and a control circuit 23 that compares the caller number detected by the caller telephone number detection circuit 12 with the registration number stored in the storage means 25 and allows the display means 27 to display the caller telephone number with hyphens when they are coincident. Thus, the user easily reads the received caller number when the number does not substantially includes the hyphens.
