The invention relates to a calender for a material sheet of thermoplastic material which by means of an extruder and a sheet die is extruded. This comprises a frame 1 with rolls 8, 9, 14 for smoothing and cooling of the material sheet. They are bedded in the frame 1. The roll 8 is held stationary but rotatably and the rotatable roll 9 is radially adjustable in respect to the stationary roll 8. Additionally an adjustable roll 14 is provided, which is circumferentially adjustable around the axis of rotation X of the stationary roll by means of guide cars 15, 16 which are provided at both its ends, on circular running paths of guide rails 2', 2", 3', 3". The guide rails 2', 2", 3', 3" are connected to the frame or are a part of it. By this design a rigid support for the adjustable roll 14 is achieved and furthermore an advantageous ease of access to the area of intake of the material sheet from the sheet die B into the calender is achieved. The frame 1 together with the guide rails 2', 2", 3', 3" is pivotable around a swivel axis which runs parallel to the axis of rotation X of the stationary roll 8 to achieve an adjustment to different extrusion directions depending on the material used. |
