PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a light packet in an extremely wide wavelength band. SOLUTION: A rotational disk type optical filter, in which dielectric multilayer film optical filter layers having prescribed transmission wavelengths are formed in plural sectorial areas divided by a prescribed centeral angle, is rotated and a continuous light beam having plural wavelengths in coincident with the transmission wavelength are made incident on the filter. The position of transmission of the incident light beam at this time successively passes through an area having a different transmission wavelength by rotating the optical filter. On the other hand, since the wavelength of the incident light beam is in coincident with the transmission wavelength, only a single wavelength is selected/transmitted in each area and a monochromatic pulse light beam having a wavelength corresponding to the transmission wavelength in each area is time sequentially outputted depending on the rotation of the optical filter. |
