PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate leakage current from a cold-cathode tube of an edge-light type backlight to improve luminance, and to prevent lighting abnormalities and shortening of time of the cold-cathode tube, while protecting the tube from impacts, etc. SOLUTION: An elastic O-ring 6 is arranged on a cold-cathode tube 1 for providing a clearance between the tube and a reflecting member 3. The O-ring 6 becomes a cushion to prevent the damages caused by a collision with the reflection member 3 of a light guide Platte 2. By arranging the O-ring 6 so as to be separated from one end part of the cold-cathode tube by five times or more of the tube diameter, lighting abnormalities and a shortening in life time can be effectively prevented. |
