ACICULAR TITANIUM DIOXIDE PARTICLES AND MEHTOD OF THE PRODUCTION THEREOF

摘要

Acicular titanium dioxide particles having a weight average length of 3 to 7 .mu.m and a cross-sectional diameter of 0.05 to 0.8 .mu.m, with 70 % or more of the particles being of a length of 2 .mu.m or more are produced by calcining a mixture containig a titanium source, an alkali metal source and an oxyphosphoric compound in the presence of acicular titanium dioxide seeds.
