<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote reset device capable of accurately resetting a device from a terminal connected to a communication channel even at the time an application runs away. SOLUTION: Plural ICMP(internet control message protocol)-ECHO packets transmitted from an ICMP-ECHO packet generation terminal 101 through a communication channel 102 are received by the physical interface 103 of a device A to be reset, and the packet header of the ICMP-ECHO packet is interpreted, then the data of the ICMP-ECHO packet are transferred to an ICMP processing part 107. In the case of receiving plural ICMP-ECHO packets having a predetermined length by an ECHO monitoring part 108 provided in the ICMP processing part 107, the ECHO monitoring part 108 activates a device reset part 109 and the entire device A is reset by the device reset part 109.</p> |
