PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the obtaining of the activation energy of thermal decomposition reaction even if no reaction model expression is known, by performing thermal analysis measurement while periodically changing at least a plurality of reaction rates, and analyzing the measurement results by a predetermined analysis technique. SOLUTION: The relationship between the rates of mass change obtained by differentiating the changes in the weight of a sample by time and sample temperatures corresponding to a region of measurement time 50-130. By performing thermogravimetry while controlling sample temperature T so as to repeat two types of reaction rates Ca and Cb periodically, it is possible to measure the changes in the weight of a sample. For obtaining activation energy in thermal decomposition reaction, it is necessary to obtain the two types of reaction rates Ca and Cb and corresponding sample temperatures Ta and Tb on thermal decomposition reaction at the same reaction rateα. Then regions T'a and T'b with no data on Ta and Tb are data interpolated. By performing data-interpolation in this way, it is possible to obtain temperatures Ta and Tb corresponding to the reaction rates Ca and Cb on thermal decomposition reaction at the reaction rateα.
