PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of a developer carrying member installed in a developer storing part by at least stopping the developer carrying means in an area other than an area opposed to the bottom surface of a developing device at the time of stopping the developer carrying means. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a control means 50 for controlling the developer carrying members 39 and 40 so as to be stopped in an area other than the area opposed to the bottom surface of the developing device 9 at the time of stopping the developer carrying members 39 and 40. That is, an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor drum is developed by the developing device 9, and when the transfer and fixation processes of the developed image are finished, the rotation of the photoreceptor drum, the rotation of the developing roll 30 for the developing device 9 and the rotation of the developer carrying members 39 and 40 are stopped, then, an image forming operation is finished, and the developing device 9 is stopped. In this case, the developing device 9 is stopped in such a state where the members 39 and 40 are always stopped in the optimum position where each elastic member 44 of the members 39 and 40 is not laid in the developer and the elastic member 44 is not pressed against the bottom part 45 of the housing 33 of the developing device 9. |
