<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the temperature of a sealed integrated battery, and to miniaturize the battery and improve reliability by dividing tank into electrochemical assembly cells by a vertical bulkhead, blocking the tank, forming a coolant circulating section within a sidewall, and providing an outlet and inlet piping. SOLUTION: A tank 2, consisting of a plastic single member consisting of a sidewall 4, a longitudinal wall 5 and a crossing wall 6 is divided into cells 7 by a plurality of vertical bulkheads 8. A battery is housed in each cell 7, a blocking means 3 is fixed airtightly to the vertical bulkheads 8 to form a case body 1. Further, a coolant circulating section is formed by the longitudinal wall 5 and a side plate 9 and allowed to communicate with an outlet and inlet piping 10 through a passage provided on the crosswall 6. The crosswall 6 is provided with two opening parts for receiving the output terminals of current which are pierced through every cell 7, one discharge opening part for receiving a safety valve for discharging a gas, when the pressure within the cell becomes excessive, a non-through cavity for receiving a temperature measuring means, and a non-through housing.</p> |
