The invention relates to a plug-and-socket connection for a potentially explosive area, enabling energy and data transfer by means of electrical variables in a bus system. The inventive device comprises a first part which is configured as a transformer and a second part in addition to limiting devices for electrical variables which are to be transferred. The limiting devices are arranged in the first part and are designed to limit the electrical variables, which are to be transferred to the second part, to acceptable values according to "e" type protection.
