The invention relates to a device for automatic implementation of chemical or biological methods in sample receptacles, especially for sequencing or amplifying nucleic acid sequences. The inventive system comprises a pipette device and a themocycler. The pipette device has a pipette arm for pipetting sample substances and/or chemicals. The invention is characterised in that the pipette device and thermocycler are embodied as separate workstations and a handling device is provided so that at least one sampling receptacle containing sample substances or chemicals can be displaced . Said receptacle is embodied separately from the work stations.
