The stand (1) has two wheels (2, 3) of 100 - 150 mm diameter and at least 500 mm apart. It is operated by a two-way hydraulic power cylinder (4) actuated by pump connected to an electric motor, and can be set in raised, lowered and intermediate positions. In the lowered position the rear wheel of the motorcycle is raised off the ground to prevent it being driven, while in the intermediate position it acts as a stabilizer, allowing the motorcycle to be ridden at low speed without loss of balance.
