An ultraviolet/infrared absorbing glass composed of a base glass composition comprising, on the weight basis, 65-80 % of SiO2, 0-5 % of Al2O3, 0-10 % of MgO, 5-15 % of CaO, 10-18 % of Na2O, 0-5 % of K2O, 5-15 % of MgO plus CaO, 10-20 % of Na2O plus K2O, 0.05-0.3 % of SO3 and 0-5 % of B2O3 and a coloring component comprising 0.35-0.55 % of total iron oxide (T-Fe2O3) in terms of Fe2O3, 0.08-0.15 % of FeO, 0.8-1.5 % of CeO2 and 0-0.5 % of TiO2, wherein the content of FeO in terms of Fe2O3 ranges from 20 to 27 % (exclusive of 27 %) of the T-Fe2O3.
