PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a semisolid hot melt acoustic ink jet ink composition by formulating a liquid ketone vehicle having a specified acoustic loss with a solid ketone compound having a specified melting point and a specified acoustic loss, a light-resistant UV absorber, a light-resistant antioxidant, and a colorant to form a composition having a specified acoustic loss. SOLUTION: A liquid ketone vehicle having an acoustic loss of 5-40 dB/mm and having a melting point of 35-74 deg.C and a solid ketone compound having an acoustic loss of 25-80 dB/mm to obtain a composition having an acoustic loss of 10-80 dB/mm. The suitable amounts are 55-1 wt.% liquid ketone vehicle, 5-97 wt.% solid ketone compound, 10-0.5 wt.% light-resistant UV absorber, 10-0.5 wt.% light-resistant antioxidant and 20-1 wt.% colorant. This ink composition can be used to print a sufficiently durable image on plain paper or coated paper, can be used to print an excellent projected image on a transparent image without after-treatment such as melting and has merits such as resistance to wrinkling. |
