PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a good image can be provided when a document comprising a mixture of a test image and a graphic image is printed. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a uniformly charged image carrier, and an exposing means for forming a latent image wherein the exposing means comprises first and second exposing means L1, L2. The first exposing means L1 exposes the image carrier in order to form a latent image based on image information having a graphic image part and a text image part. The second exposing means L2 has an intensity of exposure per unit area on the surface of the image carrier being set lower than that of the first exposing means L1. A latent image where the dark potential at the graphic image part is lower than those at the text image part and a nonprinting part is formed by exposing only the graphic image part weakly. |
