PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing of high durability with which breakage of a ceramic sliding member due to setting-in and taking-out to/from a molten material and also corrosion of a metal supporting member are precluded. SOLUTION: A hollow cylindrical vessel 4 and a lid 5 having ring-shaped projections 4a and 5a, respectively, are put in screw engagement and equipped with a supporting member 2 made of metal and a cylindrical sliding member 3 made of ceramics fitted in the hollow part of the supporting member 2, wherein the two open end faces of the sliding member 3 are contacted by the projections 4a and 5a and held in fight attachment by the screwing effect from the two open end faces. In this radial bearing for molten metal, the sliding member 3 is held pinchedly in tight attachment to the supporting member 2 by means of a shrinkage fitting process in the longitudinal direction, and the molten metal is hindered from intruding to the fitting surfaces 8 of the sliding member 3 and supporting member 2. |
