PURPOSE:To control the liquid pressure acting on a nozzle within a predeter mined pressure range and enable the stable feed of ink to a recording head by providing a pressure regulating means having a valve mechanism, which makes it possible to feed liquid in a predetermined pressure range, at a liquid feed port in the interior of a tank. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet head cartridge 400 provided with a recording head unit 500 and a tank unit 600, both being integrated into one body, a slit bladder 100 as a pressure regulating member is disposed at an ink feed port in the tank unit 600. This slit bladder 100 is supported on a mounting base 120, is formed of an elastic member such as silicone rubber, and has a slit 110 provided on the upper part thereof. Since the slit 110 is provided so as to assume a right angle with respect to the major axis of the ellipse of the mounting base 120, the difference of tension force is caused on the side wall of the slit bladder along the major and minor axes of the ellipse of the mounting base 120, whereby the bladder is made small, so that the slit 110 can be easily opened. |
