PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a magnetic property and to improve corrosion resistance by executing a single domain for a magneto-resistance effect film and a soft magnetic film and forming a suitable bias magnetic field so as to suitably hold antiferromagnetism of an antiferromagnetic film. SOLUTION: This head 1 is composed of at least the soft magnetic film 6 and a magneto-resistance effect film 4 which are brought into direct contact with the antiferromagnetic film 7. Here, a pair of shields 9 is arranged with a prescribed interval in both sides of a magneto-resistance effect element 3 to which a switching bias is applied, and the antiferromagnetic film 7 is constituted of any one kind or more among Cr-Al alloy, Cr-Al-Fe alloy, Cr-Mn-V alloy, Cr-Mn alloy, Cr-Re alloy, Cr-Rh alloy, Cr-Ru alloy, Cr-Os allay, Cr-Ir alloy,γ-(Mn-Pd-Ni) alloy, Mn-Pt alloy, Mn-Pd alloy,γ-(Mn-Ir-Cu) alloy,γ-Mn-Ir alloy, Mn3 Pt-Mn3 Rh, MnPd-MnPt. |
