摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplex optical transmission system that sends optical signals with a capacity higher than that by conventional examples. SOLUTION: This system is provided with an optical transmitter 100 that applies wavelength multiplex to plural optical signals with different wavelength bands, an optical fiber cable 4 through which the plural optical signals are transmitted, and an optical receiver 101 that receives the plural transmitted optical signals. The optical receiver 101 is provided with a wavelength selector 20 that branches and outputs an optical signal with a prescribed wavelength among the plural received optical signals. The wavelength selector 20 has a comb-line wavelength selection characteristic that filters selectively any of the plural optical signals, in which wavelength selection interval Δλ between two adjacent selected wavelength bands and a wavelength interval δλ between two adjacent wavelength bands subject to wavelength multiplex in the wavelength selective characteristic differ, and the difference is selected so as to selectively filter one optical signal substantially among the plural received optical signals, and the wavelength selector 20 is provided with a wavelength control device 10 that makes respectively each selected wavelength shifted in the wavelength selective characteristic.
