PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately execute a processing for detecting and correcting the error of a character string by calculation amounts sharply smaller than a conventional manner and by character units. SOLUTION: An error detecting part 11 calculates N chaining probability for an inputted character string by referring to a chaining probability model, and detects an error character string based on a character string below a prescribed threshold value. An error correcting part 12 operates error correction by executing at least either an error pattern correcting processing for operating error correction by displacing an error character string detected by referring to an error pattern dictionary with a corresponding correct character string, or a conventional pattern correcting processing for operating error correction by displacing an error character string detected by referring to a conventional character chain dictionary with a corresponding conventional character string. An error detecting part 13 calculates N chaining probability for the error- corrected character string by referring to the chaining probability model, and detects the error character string based on the character string below the prescribed threshold value.
