A pneumatically operated commercial vehicle clutch system (10a) has a friction clutch (12a) with a clutch disc (20a) with first lining (44a,46a). It has a supporting structure (16a) with a second lining (48a,50a) facing the first lining. The clutch disc or the supporting structure is advanced by a pneumatically expanded cell (60a), causing the two sets of clutch linings to engage.
