FIELD: production of inorganic compounds. SUBSTANCE: silica is produced via interaction of alkali metal silicate with acidifying agent involving zinc compound followed by separation with aluminum compounds and drying of silica obtained. Resultant product exhibits good ability to be dispersed and has specific surface 90-250 sq.m/g, oil absorption below 300 ml/100 ml, zinc content 1-5 wt %, and number of stearic acid molecules absorbed by 1 sq.nm of zinc dioxide surface (when stearic acid is brought into interaction with silicon dioxide in xylene for 2 h at 120 C) is at least 1.
