A roof structure of a building comprising a planar ceiling sheet (18) constituting the ceiling of the building (2) and a mountain-shaped roof sheet (20) disposed above the ceiling sheet and constituting the roof of the building. The ceiling sheet and the roof sheet are made of a gas-impermeable sheet and their peripheral portions are fixed to the upper edge peripheral portion of a building main body (2A). The roof sheet is supported in a mountain shape by support members in such a manner as to define a sealed space between it and and the ceiling sheet and this sealed space is always kept at a positive or negative pressure relative to the atmosphere. Further, a core material (50) into which a gas is charged is disposed at necessary positions of the inner surface of the roof sheet. Therefore, the structure is simple and has an excellent workability and the roof is light in weight, so that a building having a high resistance to earthquakes can be obtained.
