PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To refill an ink cartridge with ink easily and smoothly regardless of the state of absorbing material in the ink cartridge. SOLUTION: A used empty ink cartridge being used in the printer for computer is refilled with ink by means of an ink refilling adapter 10 comprising an ink carrying tube 40 and an elastic member 60, e.g. a sponge. The ink carrying tube 40 is pushed into the ink cartridge and the elastic member is compressed until the forward end of the ink carrying tube pierces into an ink absorbing material fixed in the cartridge. When the pressing force is removed, the compressed elastic member is recovered and the forward end of the ink carrying tube ascends from the ink absorbing material. Consequently, an empty or low density space is formed in the ink absorbing material contained in the ink cartridge and the ink introduced into the ink carrying tube flows smoothly into the empty or low density space and absorbed by the ink absorbing material thus refilling the ink cartridge with ink. |
